Why we chose Lugana: our history of lake, wine, and hospitality

When people ask us what makes the Lugana Parco al Lago & Wine Hotel special, we never have a single answer. Perhaps because we’re more than just a hotel on Lake Garda. We’re a place that speaks to a region, a family, and a lifestyle rooted in the Lugana area and the waters of Lake Garda. Those who come to us are often looking for a hotel in Lugana di Sirmione, perhaps a lakeside property where they can enjoy a few days of relaxation. What they discover, however, is something more: an experience of relaxation, sunsets, good wine, and family authenticity.

A hotel on Lake Garda where the lake truly takes center stage

Our two hotels are located directly on the shores of Lake Garda, facing each other, with a large private green park that reaches right down to the water and a pier that extends into the water, overlooking the Sirmione peninsula. Here, the lake isn’t just a view from the window. It’s the place to stroll in the morning, relax in the afternoon—perhaps with a dip in the park’s pool—and be amazed by the colors of the sunset. Many guests choose us because they want a hotel with direct private access to the lake, away from the crowds yet close to the beauty of Sirmione. It’s precisely this balance between tranquility and strategic location that makes the stay special.

In the heart of the Lugana region

We are in Lugana di Sirmione, one of the areas most loved by wine and food lovers. Our connection to this region is part of our identity. The vineyards surrounding the town tell a story of tradition, family, and a passion for wine. The Dal Cero family has also been working on this land since 1939, producing wines at the renowned Ca’ dei Frati winery, a global leader in Lugana DOC. This is why we also call ourselves a Wine Hotel on Lake Garda: because we believe that getting to know a region means savoring it, meeting it, and experiencing it through its excellence. And we do this by offering unique and authentic food and wine experiences. Tastings, cellar tours, and wine tours with the family’s sommelier allow our guests to discover the most authentic soul of Lugana.

Hospitality born from a family

For generations, our family has welcomed travelers from all over the world with the same philosophy: making every guest feel at home, even in a special place. We like to think that true luxury today is time. Time for breakfast overlooking the lake, a stroll in the park, a glass of Lugana at sunset, a leisurely dinner just a few meters from the lake, or a bike ride in the surrounding area with our e-bike rental.

Complementary to our hotel, at the same address, are two gastronomic offerings: the La Fenice bistro and La Lugana Trattoria, which represent another important part of our history. The cuisine showcases the flavors of the Garda region, taking guests on a gastronomic journey that combines tradition and creativity. Dining on the lake, just steps from the water, means experiencing Garda with all your senses. It’s an experience that many of our guests remember as one of the highlights of their holiday.

A starting point for discovering Garda

Staying at the Lugana Parco al Lago & Wine Hotel also means being in an ideal location for visiting Sirmione, as well as Desenzano del Garda, Peschiera, Verona, Brescia, and the area’s main attractions. Many choose our hotel as a base for exploring the southern part of Lake Garda, alternating days dedicated to exploring the area with moments of relaxation in the park and on the lake. Gardaland is also about ten kilometers from our hotel.
